Ngala Beach Lodge Accomodation
History of the rooms
The executive rooms were originally built in the early '80s using brick with mud mortar and when we purchased the lodge in 2008 they had huge cracks in the walls and the roofs leaked. So we knocked them down and rebuilt them to provide larger rooms with a more comfortable layout. All rooms also have very comfortable king size or twin single beds with new comfortable wooden furniture. They are all en-suite with hot showers and all have private front verandas overlooking the manicured gardens and infinity pool to the lake.
The Deluxe rooms were built in the late '90s and had the problem that in the rainy season, during storms with strong winds which are common at this time, a lot of rain would enter the front of the room. The rooms also had a "Mezzanine floor" with 2 beds upstairs. We added a covered veranda to the front of the units and removed the mezzanine floor reducing the number of beds but making the space much more comfortable for our guests. All rooms also have very comfortable king size or twin single beds with new comfortable wooden furniture. They are all en-suite with hot showers and all have private front verandas which overlook and have direct access to the beach.
Ngala Beach Lodge has a choice of fine accommodation which comprises:
2 x Deluxe Cottages with private verandas
1 x Deluxe Cottage with 2 bedrooms, lounge area and private veranda
6 x Executive rooms with private verandas
2 x Executive Family rooms with private verandas
The Deluxe Cottages overlook the main beach and lake beyond.
The Executive Rooms and Executive family rooms are situated in magnificent beautifully manicured lawns and lush gardens overlooking our new infinity pool to the lake.
All double rooms are equipped with: either twin single beds or King size beds; a huge mosquito net and cooling fan; a comfortable sitting area with coffee and tea station; en suite bathroom and private verandah with comfortable seating.
Family rooms have one King size bed and two singles in separate rooms with mosquito nets and fans as described above with a lounge area and coffee and tea station, en suite bathroom and private verandah with comfortable seating.
We also have a well maintained, lawned and shady camp site adjacent to the beach as well as dormitory facilities, each with access to hot showers and flushing toilets.
All in all, Ngala Beach Lodge provides excellent quality luxury lakeside accommodation in Malawi.
